The food was very good buffalo burger, Philly and a burger. They bake there own bread and deserts which were very good. Limited hours so eat early for lunch. The buns are big and over take the burgers a bit but taste awesome

Perfect example of a small town diner! We just missed breakfast, which we were pretty excited for but we settled for their wraps and burgers which were also good 7/10. Service was fast and friendly and best part of this dining experience is they welcomed my dog inside!!! He's pretty well behaved so doesn't beg or jump around- just chases flies, but it is as awesome to be able to dine inside with him there since it's pretty hot out and there's no dining outdoor option. Their cinnamon rolls were fresh out the oven and were a delicious treat.

What a great little spot! We luckily missed the big morning rush, but it was still busy. Staff is very efficient and friendly. Our waitperson was Lauren and she was on top of it and accommodating with every guest. No wasted steps with this woman! Food was good and prepared as requested. Went there based on recommendations from Motel and Friends and so glad we did!

the tagline that says, "You'll Love Our Buns" - is totally pun intended. lol... it looked small from the outside but it's big.Located in Custer, South Dakota, the Café is the perfect example of small-town dining. It's a little old-fashioned, very affordable, and serves delicious meals--either with or on their homemade bread.Deciding what to eat was no easy task because the menu offerings all sounded delicious. We orderedChicken wrap in a bowlchicken sandwich with Italian dressingBison wrap with friesThe food was good and so was their service and ambiance. though it was 4th July they managed it well. Glass cases filled with all kinds of homemade pastries greeted us inside the front door.small-quaint-historic town, routing diff direction to Mt Rushmore-crazy horse-custer state park.

Very rude servers, especially skinny blonde lady. They close super early and still run out of things two hours before

Best breakfast in town! We had the omelette a with a side of green chili and it doesn't disappoint... two days in a row! Sit in Lauren's section if you can, she is personable and very nice. She made our morning after we ordered a crazy donut order, she was patient and kind. The donuts, rolls and pastries are a must here! Stop in here for a tasty and filling breakfast and get a roll to go.

Tried grabbing an early breakfast before our hike but could not get any help getting seated. The girl behind the counter kept trying to waive down the two waitresses to help us get a table but they kept ignoring her and us. One waitress kept talking to someone at the front door and her profanity was clearly audible. No thanks - clearly not worried about servicing customers. Would not recommend.

To go scones and donuts were delicious. The dine in service was fairly slow, food was standard diner breakfast fare. Good coffee and reasonable prices

Making an impromptu trip to Custer and our kids first comment was “mmmm…cinnamon rolls”. We have talked about the rolls from this bakery for three years and can’t wait to stop and have some more.

My family was vacationing in Hill City for the week and after several attempts at finding a gluten-free friendly we finally came upon Baker’s Bakery. We thought a ‘bakery’ was a long shot but we gave it a try. We are so glad we did! The food was amazing! This is definitely a hidden gem in Custer! We would highly recommend this restaurant to others!

Absolutely, THE best breakfast I’ve eaten in decades. Sure, anyone can make and serve a western omelet, but the details wrapped up in this menu item divide the serving, world’s apart, from anything I’ve encountered in my years. From the fresh-baked bread to spread jam onto, to the perfectly-prepared vegetables and bacon within, this will be thought about until my next trip to the Black Hills. The service was awesome and the atmosphere was enticing. I would highly recommend this to anyone in the area.

Just tried their “Lemon Bars” and they were to die for. We’re traveling thru from Chandler, Az. and I’m afraid I’ll never find them as good. Thank you so much! Sincerely, Linda

At least twice a month we drive from Spearfish to the Bakery in Custer to eat and take home rolls. We have to get there early because EVERYONE buys up the ‘goodies’.Thanks for the delicious meals, treats and….friendly people!

I remember Caramel Rolls, from our trip 2 years ago. We drove from NC out to Mt Rushmore and the biggest thing that seems to come up every time we talk about our trip is those Caramel Rolls.

Stopped in for lunch while visiting Custer. My husband ordered a buffalo burger and I ordered the mushroom burger with American cheese instead of swiss cheese. Food was pretty good but our waitress did not inform me they charge extra to substitute cheese. We already had to pay extra for fries and onion rings. Although it wasn’t a huge difference she could of at least told me they charge extra to substitute one kind of cheese for another.

Stopped for lunch last Saturday because the pastries looked good. Ordered the Buffalo Salad. WOW. It was one of the best taco salads I’ve had. (I lived in AZ for 15 years). It was so flavorful, I ate all even after I was full.
Service was friendly and helpful. I’ll be back.
